Found a Croydon Cycling Campaign tag on your bike? This week Croydon Cycling Campaign have been getting the word out about who we are and our drive for a liveable city where cycling is a pleasant and safe experience which all ages and abilities can enjoy.
By reaching out to as many people as possible we can further grow our strength and influence and build up a cycling community that is strong enough for cycling to get the recognition it deserves from our politicians. We need people to know who we are, keep in touch, follow local cycle-related issues and hold the local council to account when they get it wrong.
Follow us on twitter, @CroydonCyclists or facebook, join our mailing list, come along to say hi at our monthly meet (always happy to see new faces) or drop us an e-mail if you’ve got any questions. Look forward to hearing from you!
Croydon Cycling Campaign
Great idea. I cycle around Croydon regularly (no car & it’s way more fun & healthy than public transport). I’ve also been a victim of cycle theft (yet police were clearly only interested in adding me to the statistics as they declined a photo of the stolen bike!) and have had bike impacts whilst on the road (including being pushed onto opposite carriageway whilst 7m pregnant!). My sons love cycling too (at least the youngest, aged 2 has a wooden balance bike he loves using on pavement & loves being chauffeured around on his bike seat); my 8yo & I took part in the 17 May central London Big Ride & we both loved it.
I can’t commit to becoming active with CCC but would like to join in any social & campaigning events, especially family-friendly ones. I can also email decisionmakers & post on Facebook to lobby for cyclng improvements (potholed roads in town centre, anti-cycling attitude from Edridge Road health centre, pathetic butterfly racks at Croy.Uni.Hospital, lack of droppe kerb from Dalmally Passage onto D.Rd, etc.). I recently discovered the off-road cycle track beside Bethlem (Wickham Rd) & wish we had more of them! Please add me to your mailing list. Hope to make a meet-up soon.
