  • There was a lot to see and do in Croydon’s North End on Saturday 23 June 2012 as part of the Bike Week celebrations. Attractions included Dr Bike, bike marking by the police, the opportunity to sit in a HGV and see how difficult it can be for a truck driver to see you when you’re riding your bike, the Bicycle Library, cargo bikes from Carry Me and a car-shaped bike rack that shows that 1 car parking space can accommodate ten bikes.  Local cyclist Rose Nelson summed it all up as “awesome”.

  • The first Hackney Cycling Conference took place on June 8th at the Stoke Newington Town Hall and marked another major milestone in the progress of cycling to the political and social forefront.  Cycling campaigners, journalists, academics, engineers, professionals and councillors spoke at the event, carefully (and often humorously) laying out the latest understanding of issues affecting cycling. Hackney is at the forefront of London’s cycling revolution and understanding where it came from and how it got to where it is now can help inform how Croydon Cyclists approach the same objectives.  A strong message that came across […]
