Dropping speed limits from 30 or 40 to 20 in residential areas creates a much safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists alike. Croydon Cycling Campaign will soon begin using CycleScape to start tracking residential roads in Croydon which do not have a 20mph limit or below.
This page acts as a stub for this campaigning until the software is available. In the short-term, we would like to focus on seeing Mitcham Road, a residential road with a school and a cemetery, made 20mph. Please help us identify other such roads which need 20mph limits by posting below and we will list them here. Any updates on progress with 20mph limits for Mitcham Road will also be discussed here.
Successful campaigns for 20mph zones will also be shown here.
I would recommend Farley Road / CrohamValley road.
As residents mostly park their cars on their drive way lot many road users drive as if it is a racing track. Main offenders are moped guys along with few cars and motorbikes.
I would def. recommend 20mph on this road.
Woodside Green would benefit from this as well….
