On 25 July, Croydon Cycling Campaign placed a ghost bike close to site of the crash at a memorial ceremony attended by Neil’s family, local cyclists, former British cycling star and owner of De Ver Cycles Maurice Burton and family and Amy Aeron-Thomas and Sara Dowling from Roadpeace Kristian summed up the feelings of those assembled when he said that what had happened was not acceptable, and called for a 20mph limit to be put in place without delay. Posted on July 15, 2012 | 4 CommentsOnly three of us on this rescheduled ride from Croydon to Richmond Park – which was a shame, as we enjoyed good weather, the delights of the Wandle trail and of the park – including a herd of deer – and the cycle-friendly pub, The Telegraph. Mitul took his head cam, and we look forward to seeing the edited highlights.

Most of the goals in this strategy would be easier to meet if cycling played a more significant role in the transport strategy, but cycling doesn’t manage to get a single mention in this document.
